Document Upload

Introducing our document upload feature, and how to best use this tool in both the Research and the Writing tool environments.

Updated over a month ago

TaxGPT's document upload feature supercharges the capabilities of both the research & writing tools. Simply click the paperclip icon to upload any tax-related documents such as: tax returns, client multi-year tax comparisons, financial statements, IRS notices, or brokerage statements. Once uploaded, our software performs Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and parses the document's context. After this process is complete, you can now apply your questions or asks directly to the document itself.

Research Tool

Documents uploaded to the research tool allows our AI to use the document's context to direct its response. Some common use cases for this include:

  1. Uploading tax returns and asking about whether or not the client qualified for any deductions or credits that may have been omitted.

  2. Uploading single- or multi-year financial statements and requesting ratio or trend analyses.

  3. Uploading brokerage statements and requesting a calculation of long- and short-term capital gains if XYZ positions were sold on a given date.

Writing Tool

Uploading documents to the writing tool can truly transform your workflows. This can be an end-to-end service that allows you to transform documents into researched and written communications in less than a minute. Some common use cases for this include:

  1. Uploading an IRS notice, such as a CP501, and asking to write a response using the first-time abatement framework.

  2. Upload a tax return and have a summary written to your client.

  3. Upload multi-year financial statements and write your client a trend analysis for financial ratios.
